Hey 3RST students! This Wednesday we read about the armor of God in Ephesians 6 :10-18. We discussed how whether we believe it or not we are in a war. As a believer we are drawn into this spiritual battle because we belong to God. So therefore, Satan attacks us as Christians in order to try and make us ineffective. The good news is as a believer we are equipped  with the armor of God that he has given us. The first piece of armor is the belt of truth. It's a belt that shows our prepardeness and commitment to fight. The second piece of armor is the breastplace of righteousness. This piece of armor is worn through obedience to God's Word by following what God says and commands us to do. The third piece of armor is the shoes that give us peace from the Good News so we will be fully prepared. These shoes represent the peace we have with our faith and with our God. The fourth piece of armor is the shield of fatih. The shield of faith is used to protect us from Satan's flaming arrows. The arrows of doubt, temptation, worldly possesions, that he throws at us daily. It's used by your faith in God. Faith that He is with us, He will never leave us, and that He will fight for us. The next piece of armor is the helmet of salvation. This helmet is received upon salvation. A soldier would never try to enter battle without his helmet. The helmet protects us from condemnation and gives us that hope for an eternal life with God in Heaven. The last piece of armor is the sword of the Spirit. This is the Word of God. It can be used defensively and offensively. To be used for defense we must be skillful and precise with the Word of God to counter each of Satan's attacks. To be used for offense the Word of God is capable of inflicting blows. Through our testimonies and through witnessing to others who are Lost the Word of God cuts throught the darkness in this world. Ephesians 6:14 commands us to stand firm and vs 13 says for us to use every piece of armor. Not just bear one, two, or three pieces but all of them. Ask yourselves if your bearing this armor? Are you bearing every piece of it? Have you ever received the hemlet of salvation?
